Sustainable Communities Mentorship Programme
This new programme offers training and support to individuals in Scotland who want to inspire their own communities to take action on Sustainability and Climate Change. The BTCV Scotland Sustainable Communities Mentorship Programme aims to develop a network of Sustainable Community Mentors throughout Scotland through a series of regional training and support programmes.
'The workshop was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed every session'
'Highly motivating, I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to take environmental action'
'For anyone starting out on a project, this course should be a requirement'
The programme starts with a 2 day training workshop which will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to raise awareness about Sustainability and communicate Climate Change in their own communities. Participants will also work on developing their own unique skills, producing Action Plans for their communities and learning tools to take forward practical Community Projects to improve the local environment and take action for a more sustainable planet.
There is no fee for participants; costs are covered by BTCV Scotland in partnership with the Sustainable Development Commission Scotland and the Forum for Environmental Volunteering Activity. Spring 2010 Regional Workshops dates are as follows:
- Glasgow: 25th & 26th February
- Aberdeen: 11th & 12th March
- Inverness: 18th & 19th March
After the workshop, participants will receive ongoing support from local BTCV Scotland staff, installments of resources and access to national and local skills sharing and networking events.
