FREE Training
Volunteer Development Scotland and FEVA are offering a fantastic range of FREE learning opportunities, accredited and non-accredited to be delivered across Scotland commencing September 2010. These training opportunities are funded by VDS and FEVA. The programme of training is about "looking after your volunteers" (Volunteer Management) and includes recruiting volunteers, keeping them motivated, recognising their achievements as well as learning how to evaluate the value of volunteering. The programme will be delivered by Volunteer Development Scotland at a range of venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayr, Stirling and Inverness.
The programme of training illustrates how the first 5 modules can be aligned to specific accredited Awards if required. There is no obligation to complete all five. Please use the Non Accredited Booking Form for each of these and return to VDS.
The Customised Award entitled "Coordinating Volunteers" requires completion of all 6 modules over 6 months and a more significant time commitment. This award has been popular with FEVA Network organisations over the past 2 years, and 20 volunteer managers have completed it to date. If you are interested in this Award, please complete the attached Scottish Qualification Authority Application Form and return it to VDS.
You can find out more about the learning opportunities on line at http://www.vds.org.uk. Please return your completed application or booking forms to Hazel McAlpine – hazel.mcalpine@vds.org.uk . These courses book up fast so don't leave it too long!
