Investing in Volunteers Subsidy Scheme

Environmental volunteering organisations can now apply to Volunteer Development Scotland [VDS] for up to 80% of the cost of assessment for the Investing in Volunteers award.
Volunteer Development Scotland has secured funding from the Scottish Government through FEVA [Forum for Environmental Volunteering Activity] to help meet the cost of Investing in Volunteers [IiV] assessment for environmental volunteering organisations over the next 3 years.
Unlike other quality awards IiV has a unique focus on volunteering, giving organisations the opportunity to improve and develop practice - making a good organisation even better.
27 organisations in Scotland have already seen for themselves the benefits of developing their volunteer management standards to match the Investing in Volunteers standards. These include The Green Team and Venture Scotland.
Applications are invited from organisations who meet the criteria, and who want to use the IiV process to develop and improve their practice in involving volunteers. The closing date for applications for subsidy has now been set for Friday 2nd April, applications received after that date may not be considered.
"We had been reviewing our work with volunteers and felt that the service we were providing was quite good. Having the opportunity to let someone look at our work from outside the organisation was too good an opportunity to miss out on. Our organisation just wouldn't exist without volunteers and we wanted to give them the best service possible". - The Green Team, 2007.
