Scotland's Nature Festival
Saturday, 18 May 2013
The Festival is a chance for us all to work together and contribute events that will allow the Scottish people to get out and about and enjoy our beautiful forests, lochs, coastlines, hills and mountains, rivers and parks.
You can can be part of a unified events campaign together with many other organisations using the same messages, logos and promotional materials. This helps to create a sense of something big happening across Scotland, in which everyone can take part. The Festival is contributing towards the Year of Natural Scotland campaign.
The Name Scotland's Nature Festival, with the strapline "Love Life, Love Nature" is the new name for Scottish Biodiversity Week. The reason we have changed the name is that we want the public to be able to relate easily to what the Festival is all about and to better convey a sense of fun, adventure, positivity and energy. The Events Diary Apart from the name, the other big change is to do with how events will be advertised. This year, I am really happy to say that we are partnering with The List website (www.list.co.uk) and you will be able to enter the details of your events yourselves. There is a simple process of registration. You can find out more about how to register and add your events on the Nature Festival site. The List is a well known online service that allows the public to search for what's on near them. This means: that your events will be publicised to a large audience. more people will find out what kind of event you are organising near where they live or where they will be during the Festival.
What materials we can offer you to help with your events As in previous years, we have developed materials that you can either download from the website and others that we can post to you. These materials include logos, posters, PVC banners, bookmarks and wild flower seed packs. You can download the logos and posters straight away. If you would like a banner, bookmarks or seedpacks you will need to have entered your event/s' details into The List. Once you have done that, please email Morag Elliott at biodiversity@snh.gov.uk and let Morag know what materials you would like. Morag will then liaise with you about that. The sooner you are able to contact us about this, the better as we have limited stocks!
