Corporate Involving Environmental Agencies

Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the numbers of businesses who wish to support environmental organisations around Scotland. Particularly in terms of involving staff teams in conserving Scotland's fragile landscapes and city green spaces. The benefits of involving people in outdoor-based team activity which is real, meaningful and which has a lasting impact on Scotland's countryside - are many and as such, have led to "green" environmental organisations exploring a range of ways in which they can work in partnership with corporates. As a result of the growing interest and approaches to the environmental sector, the Volunteer Manager Development Project has set up a support group called CIEA (Corporate Involving Environmental Agencies) which looks at ways of sharing ideas, resources and good practice for those environmental organisations who which to develop opportunities for corporate involvement.

Through CIEA, FEVA is now able to showcase a fantastic range of opportunities for corporates to get involved with the environmental sector. Your team could help develop the Cyrenians farm at Kirknewton, work with young people and conserve green spaces around Edinburgh with the Green Team, get away from the city to the Venture Scotland Glen Etive Bothy or help look after countryside sites all over Scotland with the National Trust for Scotland. There are opportunities for short or long term secondment and strategic development for higher level involvement. Or you might simply choose to support an organisation by hosting an event at a particular site or venue.

It's up to you...
